ब्लैकटाउन (सिडनी): भारतीय स्वतंत्रता दिवस का 79वां भव्य समारोह ब्लैकटाउन सिटी काउंसिल में बड़े उत्साह और गरिमा के साथ मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर सीजी इंडिया सिडनी, पॉन्ड्स इंडियन कम्युनिटी तथा सिडनी तेलुगु क्रिश्चियन फेलोशिप (STCF) ने संयुक्त रूप से आयोजन किया।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत ऑस्ट्रेलियाई राष्ट्रीय ध्वज को सम्मानपूर्वक फहराने से हुई, जिसके बाद भारतीय तिरंगा फहराया गया। दोनों ही ध्वजों के सम्मान ने भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बीच सौहार्द और मैत्रीपूर्ण संबंधों का संदेश दिया।
इस अवसर पर ब्लैकटाउन सिटी काउंसिल के मेयर, काउंसिलर ऐलन ग्रीन, जेस डियाज़, काउंसिलर प्रदीप पाठी तथा डॉ. मोनिंदर सिंह सहित अनेक सम्मानित अतिथियों ने उपस्थिति दर्ज कराई। समुदाय के वरिष्ठ सदस्यों, विभिन्न संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों और बड़ी संख्या में प्रवासी भारतीयों ने भी भाग लेकर समारोह को ऐतिहासिक बना दिया।
सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियों में बच्चों और युवाओं ने देशभक्ति गीतों व नृत्यों से दर्शकों का मन मोह लिया। भारतीय परंपरा और विविधता को उजागर करने वाले इन कार्यक्रमों ने उपस्थित जनसमूह में देशभक्ति और गर्व की भावना जागृत की।
समारोह में वक्ताओं ने स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को नमन करते हुए कहा कि आज़ादी की यह गाथा हमें हमेशा एकता, समर्पण और त्याग की याद दिलाती है। भारतीय और ऑस्ट्रेलियाई ध्वज के एक साथ फहराने से यह भी संदेश गया कि भारतीय समुदाय जहां भी रहते हैं, वहां की धरती को सम्मान और अपने वतन से जुड़ाव दोनों को बराबर महत्व देते हैं।
अंत में, सामूहिक राष्ट्रगान गाया गया और मिठाइयों का वितरण कर इस ऐतिहासिक दिन को उल्लासपूर्ण माहौल में समाप्त किया गया।
Blacktown (Sydney): The 79th Indian Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity at Blacktown City Council. The event was jointly organized by CG India Sydney, Ponds Indian Community, and Sydney Telugu Christian Fellowship (STCF).
The ceremony commenced with the respectful hoisting of the Australian national flag, followed by the unfurling of the Indian Tricolour. The dual flag-raising highlighted the bond of friendship and harmony between India and Australia.
Distinguished guests, including Blacktown City Council representatives Allan Green, Jess Diaz, Councillor Pradeep Pathi, and Dr. Moninder Singh, graced the occasion alongside community leaders, organizational representatives, and a large gathering of the Indian diaspora.
Cultural performances by children and youth, featuring patriotic songs and dances, added vibrancy to the celebrations. These performances showcased India’s rich traditions and diversity, filling the atmosphere with pride and patriotism.
Speakers at the event paid tribute to India’s freedom fighters, emphasizing that the story of independence will always remind future generations of unity, sacrifice, and dedication. The simultaneous presence of both Indian and Australian flags symbolized that wherever the Indian community resides, they respect the land they live in while staying deeply connected to their motherland.
The ceremony concluded with the collective singing of the national anthem, followed by the distribution of sweets, marking the day in a spirit of joy and togetherness.
